L. G. Brown, cashier of the First National Bank of Harrisville, is a prominent business man and highly esteemed citizen of Butler County. He was born in Pine Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, February 23, 1882, and is the son of George B. and Ella J. (Graham) Brown.
George B. Brown is a native of Mercer County. In early life he engaged in general farming, but for a number of years has been a teacher in the county schools. His wife was born in Pine Township, Mercer County. Mr. and Mrs. Brown have only one son, L. G., the subject of this sketch.
After completing his early schooling in the district schools of Pine Township, L. G. Brown attended Grove City College and New Castle Business College. He then spent several years at Grove City and since 1904 has been a resident of Harrisville. He entered the employ of the First National Bank in that year and has served as cashier of the institution since 1914.
On August 21, 1912, Mr. Brown was united in marriage with Miss Jennie M. McBride, of Pine Township, Mercer County, the daughter of W. W. and Jane (Mortimer) McBride. They have four children: Richard, Jeannette, Lloyd, and David.
Mr. Brown is a Republican and has served as school director. He is an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Harrisville, and is also affiliated with the Masonic Lodge.
